Athen’s tribute to NBA Superstar
“The Greek capital city of Athens has a new tourist attraction thanks to NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.”
The Sports Centre of Sepolia in the Municipality of Athens, where Giannis and his family lived and where he first played basketball, has come to life again through a tribute to Giannis’s NBA success. The player’s original neighborhood home basketball court has been super upgraded.
Colorful new fencing, benches and even themed trash cans have been installed, and a brand new certified, modern playground and basketball court has been built, giving much needed play space for local children.
The pièce de résistance of the project is a basketball court sized mural of Giannis showing him going up for one of his legendary slam dunks. With the expected number of basketball loving fans and tourists visiting the court, the Sepolia neighborhood is receiving a mini financial boom.
