Camino Day 32: Triacastela to Sarria

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

— Yogi Berra

Day 32: 24.2 kms - Steps  29,774

We set off – the weather is perfect, cold but sunny and the path is glorious.  Mossy woodland paths and meadows overflowing with wildflowers.  It was so pretty, we are both really happy and vote the walking today ten out of ten.  There is a big uphill and steep downhill sections but Sylvie opts to take the milder downhill via the road rather than the rough woodland path.

We arrive in Sarria.  It’s a milestone – now only 100 kms to go.  It marks the final rest day and the final stage of our walk.  No sooner have we arrived in Sarria than we bump into Jean Claude – bounding across the road like a giant puppy.  He is sooo happy because his wife has arrived to walk the final stage.  She seems delighted too – we arrange to meet up for dinner.  It’s fun.  Jean Claude gives us all his news, his wife is charming and funny.  They are having problems finding accommodation, as The Way gets closer to Santiago, more pilgrims join the route and accommodation is all booked out.
